CCCS is an independent study program, offering both online and text based courses. Students participate in pathways and classes that enhance their learning. The school provides numerous opportunities for additional support. All of our teachers and staff have been trained in a program called Capturing Kids Hearts which has been proven to improve educational outcomes and to build relational capacity with students.
Best of Both Worlds
The education program at Pipeline provides students and families with the best of both worlds. Pipeline provides a small, safe and personalized school environment where students thrive and get the individual attention they deserve from our on-campus classes. Students are typically on campus attending class and involved in activities two or more days per week.
Personalized Educational Plan for Every Pipeline Student
Pipeline works with students and their family to develop a Personalized Educational Plan for every student. This plan guides the student as he/she progresses towards his/her personal college and career goals. Students enroll in high quality on-line classes through Edgenuity with in-person teacher and para-educator support available throughout the week.
Technology Support to Every Pipeline Student
All Pipeline students receive technology support. Pipeline offers a fully equipped computer lab/classroom. Students are also provided with a Chromebook or other type of device so they can do their school work almost anywhere.
CCCS partners with Student Reach for leadership workshops held on campus every Thursday afternoon. In this program, students gain awareness of community needs and projects along with curriculum designed to promote healthy, positive self-awareness and peer group interactions.
My name is Ms. Terri Hoyt, and I am excited to be the teacher for the CCCS -West Sacramento Pipeline program. I have been teaching since 1991. I was a sixth grade teacher in North Sacramento for many years, then I moved to jr. high and taught mathematics and sciences. In 2008 I moved to Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates, where I developed a program for English Learners in an International K-12 school. I worked there for almost four years. Since returning to Sacramento, I have been an Independent Study High School teacher for Community Collaborative Charter School (CCCS).
I am 56 years old, my husband is an engineer, and my two daughters are following their own careers. I have many beautiful, smart, sweet grandchildren. I love to read, dance, play computer games and travel! I love to travel and have been to Costa Rica, Nicaragua, France, Italy, Slovenia, Slovakia, Romania, Serbia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Kosovo and many other exciting places around the world. I earned my Master's Degree in Education through an online program so I am very familiar with the positive aspects of this type of study, and the needs and questions that students will have. I can't wait to get to know all of you!
