School Learning Model

CCCS is an independent study program, offering online curriculum as well as live Career Technical and elective courses. Students have the opportunity to participate in many types of classes that enhance their learning. The school provides numerous opportunities for additional support. All of our teachers and staff have been trained in a program called Capturing Kids Hearts which has been proven to improve educational outcomes and to build relational capacity with students.

Best of Both Worlds

The education program at CCCS provides students and families with the best of both worlds. We provide a small, safe and personalized school environment where students thrive and get the individual attention they deserve from our on-campus classes. Students are typically on campus attending class and involved in activities two or more days per week.

Personalized Educational Plan for Every Student

CCCS works with students and their family to develop a Personalized Educational Plan for every student. This plan guides the student as he/she progresses towards his/her personal college and career goals. Students enroll in high quality on-line core classes through Edgenuity with an in-person Independent Study teacher as their guide and para-educator support available throughout the week. Students are assigned 1 half-hour 1-1 appointment with their IS teacher, as well as an 1.5 hour homeroom each week.

Beyond their online courses, students have the option to attend one or more on-campus, elective programs available throughout the week including: Animal Science, Hands on and College Prep Art, Community Collaboration and Nonprofit Leadership, Culinary/Nutrition, Patient Care, Photography, Exploratory and live Science labs, and ELA electives such as Film & Literature, .

In addition, students can take classes with our educational partners such as Student Reach and Time 2 Tabletop. We also provide a variety of field trip experiences such as heading to Yosemite with NatureBridge or to Ashland, Oregon to attend the Oregon Shakespeare Festival.

Technology Support to Every Student

All CCCS students receive technology support. We offer a fully equipped computer lab/classroom. Students are also provided with a Chromebook or other type of device so they can do their school work almost anywhere.
